The Committee like to think of themselves as a sturdy bunch not afraid of a day’s hard graft. Between us we run, throw around kettlebells, get sweaty at the gym, train in the swimming pool with our ducks and run around after the kids, grand kids and Carni Croc!
But putting up, taking down and lugging around 768ft of fencing, 28 concrete blocks, a marquee, 12 picnic benches (that is the the whole list!) proves harder and harder each year (We are all getting on a bit!).
So, not ashamed to admit we need help, we are in need of MAN/WOMANPOWER!
Anyone who can spare any time to help put up fencing, tighten up screws, construct poles or shout encouragement will be hugely welcomed with opened arms, appreciated with words of thanks and recognised with ‘2020 volunteer’ badges. We will be constructing, labouring and looking for help at the following times:
When we need the muscles!
Friday evening – 4.30pm onwards
Saturday – 9am (finish up the muscle work from the night before)
Sunday – 9am (there is a lot of fencing that gets moved!) and the big take down from 4pm onwards (We have to get everything taken down and packed up, wheel bins across the field, tidy away the fencing……..)
So please, if you can help out, come along and join us. If you’d like to confirm your attendance beforehand email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or, if you wake up a little earlier than expected on the Carnival weekend or see other people helping and want to copy, please feel more than free to pitch in.
Thank you in advance!
