Carnival Sunday

7th July 2024

The fun doesn’t end on Saturday, there is a whole day of new things to see and do on Carnival Sunday.

Entry onto the field on Sunday is FREE

Car Boot

One of the highlights of Carnival Sunday is Newport Pagnell’s biggest annual car boot sale.

We are now attracting the largest number of car booters in the area. Pitch costs are just £8 per car or £12 per van.

Car booters do not need to pre book, but must arrive between 10:00 – 11am – at Riverside Meadow (via Dove Gate). Get there early to get the best spot!

*This entrance is for traders only – parking for visitors can be found HERE*

Vintage & Modern Car Rally & Static Show

The Vintage & Modern Car Rally and Show attracts new exhibitors each year. This will be its 36th year!

Enjoy the cavalcade of vehicles as they drive through the town at Midday on Carnival Sunday and then marvel at their beautiful bodywork on Riverside Meadow afterward.

The rally follows the same route as the Saturday parade. It leaves Tanners Drive in Blakelands at 12 midday. The wonderful array of vehicles will cruise down Brickhill Street, Wolverton Rd, High Street, St Johns Street, Tickford Street, past Aston Martin Lagonda and then takes a right turn into Severn Drive and onto Riverside Meadow.

Lot’s of the cars then come on to the field and join the static display, so come along and admire the array of cars through the ages, chat with the owners and even take photos of them them.

Due to space limitations, entry to take part in the rally or static display must be booked in advance.

The Duck Race – Proudly Sponsored By Specsavers

Carnival Sunday boasts not one but TWO duck races and the best part is that anyone can take part:

Big Ducks

Big rubber ducks, racing down the river, it’s exactly what it sounds like – lots of local businesses & clubs take part to try and become the ultimate Big Duck winner

Your duck is delivered to you prior to the big event so that you can train hard and make sure that it looks the part.

With prizes for fastest duck and best dressed, competition is fierce, fiery and frankly something you do not want to miss out on.

We welcome entries from any groups, businesses, clubs, charities and organisations. It’s an excellent way to have fun and promote who you are. Plus, you get to keep your decorated duck to display, show off and re-train for the next year!

Baby Ducks

After the Big Ducks have done their thing, we launch 1,000 baby ducks down the river and award cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.

Proudly sponsored by Specsavers, tickets, which cost just £1, are available from committee members throughout May and June. You can also buy last minute entries on Carnival weekend.

You can now buy baby duck race tickets online.

Online ticket sales now closed – tickets can still be purchased from the Information Tent on both Saturday and Sunday.

1st Place – £100

2nd Place – £50

3rd Place – £30

4th Place – £20

HULA has helped thousands of animals over the past 44 years and the key to that continued success is the generous fundraising of the local community.

Please keep in mind the dog show is part of a larger event so there will be loud music, crowds and lots going on.  Please ensure your dog is comfortable in this environment.  We also ask you bring your own poop bags, and please use them.

We will have water bowls on site on Sunday but cannot guarantee how many or how full they will be throughout the day so you may want to bring your own water as well.
