Carnival Sunday

3rd July 2022

The fun doesn’t stop, with lots more to enjoy on Sunday 3rd July

Entry onto the field on Sunday is FREE

Car Boot

One of the highlights of Carnival Sunday is Newport Pagnell’s biggest annual car boot sale.

We are now attracting the largest number of car booters in the area. Pitch costs are just £6 per car or £10 per van with entry for all visitors is FREE.

Car booters do not need to pre book, but must arrive between 10:00 – 11am – at Riverside Meadow (via Dove Gate). Get there early to get the best spot!

*This entrance is for traders only – parking for visitors can be found HERE*

Classic and Vintage Car Rally & Show

The Vintage and Classic Car Rally and Show attracts new exhibitors each year and 2022 will be its 33rd year!

Enjoy the cavalcade of vehicles through the town and then marvel at their beauty and talk to their owners on Riverside Meadow afterward.

The rally follows the same route as the Saturday parade. It leaves Tanners Drive in Blakelands at 12 midday. The wonderful array of vehicles will cruise down Brickhill Street, Wolverton Rd, High Street, St Johns Street, Tickford Street, past Aston Martin Lagonda and then takes a right turn into Severn Drive and onto Riverside Meadow.

Lot’s of the cars then come on to the field and display their vehicles so come along and admire the wonderful display, chat with the owners and, if you ask nicely enough, have your photos taken.

Entry to the rally or static display must be booked in advance.

The Duck Race – Proudly Sponsored By Specsavers

Carnival Sunday boasts not one but two duck races and the best part is that anyone can take part:

Big Ducks

Exactly what it says on the…tin: Big rubber ducks, racing down the river – lots of local businesses take part to try and become the ultimate Big Duck winner!

Your duck is delivered to you prior to the big event so that you can train hard and make sure that it looks the part.

With prizes for fastest duck and best dressed, competition is fierce, fiery and frankly something you do not want to miss out on.

We welcome entries from any groups, businesses, clubs, charities and organisations. It’s an excellent way to have fun and promote who you are. Plus, you get to keep your decorated duck to display, show off and re-train for the next year!

To take part please complete an ENTRY FORM HERE and email it to: ducks@newportpagnellcarnival.com

You can also download our ‘How to’ guide for Ducks to help make sure your duck is well prepared and ready to race.

Baby Ducks

After the Big Ducks have done their thing, we launch 2,000 baby ducks down the river and award cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.

Proudly sponsored by Specsavers, tickets, which cost just £1, are available from committee members throughout May and June 2022. You can also buy last minute entries on Carnival weekend.

If you would like more information please  contact us.

Hula Dog Show

The HULA Dog Show is taking place again this year and we cannot wait to see all of your gorgeous furry friends!

Hula

We are delighted to have HULA Animal Rescue back to join us by hosting the dog show on Carnival Sunday.

Entry per class is £2 and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

11.30 – Registration Opens

Categories and approximate timings:
12.15pm – Best Cross Breed
12.30pm – Best Puppy (over 6 months)
12.45pm – Handsome Hound
1.00pm – Finest Golden Oldie (7 years and over)
1.15pm – Prettiest Female Pooch
1.30pm – Best Rescue
1.45pm – Judges’ Choice

HULA has helped thousands of animals over the past 44 years and the key to that continued success is the generous fundraising of the local community.

All proceeds from the Dog Show go straight to HULA so whether you have a lady, or a tramp…all entries are welcome and hugely appreciated.

Please keep in mind the dog show is part of a larger event so there will be loud music, crowds and lots going on.  Please ensure your dog is comfortable in this environment.  We also ask you bring your poop bags, and use them.

We will have water bowls on site on Sunday but cannot guarantee how many or how full they will be throughout the day so you may want to bring your own as well.

To find out more about HULA and the work they do, please visit www.hularescue.org  or email Rosemary at hularescueoffice@gmail.com.

The Music Stage

The Sunset Lounge continue to showcase musical talent on the music stage on Sunday so grab a bite to eat, a little beverage and have a seat on a hay bale or one of our picnic benches. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
