Our famous carnival parade leaves Blakelands, lead by our very own Carni Croc at 12 noon. The parade travels through the town, past a huge and supportive crowd and down onto Riverside Meadow.

Every year thousands of people line the streets to cheer, support and donate pennies to all of the parade entrants. What’s more, they do it whatever the weather!

The entrants always invest a lot of time and effort into putting on a great show, raising money and awareness for local charities, groups and businesses. Every year we encourage people to donate generously, cheer loudly and capture the fun in photos in true Carnival style.

Anyone can enter the parade and we welcome any new entrants who want to give it a ago. All you need is small (or large) group of people, a sprinkle of creativity and bundles of enthusiasm. It is a great way to promote, fundraise and compete for one of our trophies.

The theme for Carnival 2025 is….. Carnival Tells a Story.

Parade Trophies up for grabs this year are:

Class A: Promotional / Commercial / Small Business / Advertising
Class B: Majorettes / Cheerleaders / Dance Troupes
Class C: Walking fancy dress
Class D: Children’s Entry
Class E: Most inventive transport
Class F: Best pub
Class G: Best overall interpretation of the theme
