Wow, can you believe that it’s been nearly two months since this year’s carnival!?
The committee have been busy organising other events, planning weddings, sitting exams, working, decorating, changing jobs, taking family holidays….yep that’s right the committee all run normal (and hectic) lives alongside putting on Newport Pagnell’s biggest annual event!
We want to know what would encourage you to volunteer on the Carnival committee. We know that many hands make light work,
we know how rewarding volunteering can be and we know that the skills you gain can help you in many other ways (for example one of our members wanted to gain administrative skills for her CV, another wanted PR experience to add to her portfolio, another wanted to build up some confidence in handling stressful situations and another wanted some people management skills).
What we don’t know is why more people don’t volunteer. Over the coming weeks, we will give you an insight into what goes into running a carnival and exactly why we need more helping hands. But for now we’d like to understand what would motivate more people to get involved. Especially because they’d get to be a part of this lovely crew:
