With just one week to go, Newport Pagnell’s Carnival Queen has some final words of wisdom. So, without further ado, HRH Carmen:
Being a member of the Carnival Court is a memorable and fun opportunity that makes you incredibly proud.
You get to attend other carnivals but also take part in a huge number of local events; my favourite being visiting the local residential care home at Christmas time and being a part of the Newport Pagnell Remembrance Parade.
If you are just *thinking* of applying, stop thinking and just do it! It’s a fantastic opportunity to raise money for charities, make new friends and improve your confidence. Most importantly it shows dedication to the Newport Pagnell community and that you are proud to represent where you are from. It’s definitely worth the heat you suffer from in your dresses!
Final Words of Wisdom for the Selection Evening
My advice is to just be yourself and smile. Be prepared to show commitment to the Court and community and to show your personality. Answer the questions and try not to be nervous. It’s is an amazing opportunity to have; enjoy every minute, you’ll love it!
Thank you Carmen and good luck to all of those coming along to the selection evening. The Carnival Committee will be there to cheer you along!
The Carnival Committee
Truly one of loveliest people I have ever met. She’s caring, supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble. She is a genuinely lovely person and a great chaperone but wow can she do a dress up!
