We’re in year 58 of Newport Pagnell Carnival and if that doesn’t deserve a medal, then running 58 miles certainly does.
We are running our very first Newport Pagnell Carnival virtual run – challenging you to complete 58 miles in celebration of 58 years – and whilst 58 might sound like a lot (oi cheeky!) it only equals one mile per day – easy.
A Virtual What?
Put those VR headsets and games controllers away. A virtual run is a total distance completed by yourself, in your own time, at your own pace and at your own chosen location.
Miles can be racked up by running, jogging or walking – all we need is for you to track your activity using one of the many available apps (Strava, Map My Run, Walk-o-Meter etc.) and to send us screenshots of your miles as you complete them.
If you already run, walk the dog, or jog to the shops – bonus, you’re already well on your way to 58!
Entering is easy, only £8 and open now. Simply transfer your entry fee to:
Account number: 80662968
Sort code: 20-57-40 (Barclays)
And then drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org confirming:
– Payment date
– Full name
– Running club (if you belong to one)
Miles need to be completed between 20th April and 17th June, with final screenshots due by 22 June.
Helping Newport Pagnell Carnival
All profits from the virtual run will go straight back into running Newport Pagnell Carnival – the show-stopper community event of the year. Newport Pagnell Carnival is entirely self-funded, meaning that your entry fee really will make a difference to the local charities and causes who rely upon the Carnival to raise funds and awareness.
It’s All About The Bling, Baby
All virtual run finishers will receive a bespoke, 2018 Newport Pagnell Carnival medal, which can be collected from the Newport Pagnell Carnival Information Tent on Riverside Meadow, all Carnival Weekend (07 and 08 July 2018).
Anyone unable to attend the Carnival will be sent their medal by Royal Mail.
