The Carnival Committee would like to update you all on our current position with regards to the Newport Pagnell Carnival scheduled to take place on the 4th and 5th July 2020.
After many conversations and much deliberation we have taken the tough decision to cancel Carnival 2020. The absolute priority for us is the safety of our Volunteers, Participants and Attendees.
A key aim for us now is to ensure the future financial security of the event which is why we feel postponement is not viable. Later in the year there are uncertainties around the weather, availability of suppliers and clashes with other local events that are working hard to go ahead. We also feel that the amazing businesses and families who support us (now more than ever) need to focus on their finances on recovery from this Pandemic.
If you have entered into our Parade, Classic Car Rally, BIG Duck Race, booked a Stall OR are involved as a programme advertiser or supplier you will be contacted by a member of our Committee shortly to explain what’s happening.
If you have entered our 5k Run, BIG COW running will be in touch soon with updates and options.
Please be patient with our Volunteer Committee team whilst we resolve the challenges facing us. We will continue to release updates via Facebook and our website as we have them.
Be assured the Carnival team will come back fighting and we are already thinking of ways to make Carnival 2021 bigger and better, ready to celebrate our belated 60th Birthday in 2021!
Save the date – 3rd & 4th July 2021 when we’ll be celebrating our 60th Birthday with the same theme: 60 years of memories.
Stay safe and stay at home, we’ll see you on the other side!
